Oscar Salita was born in July 4 1945 in Manila to a family originally from Hagonoy Bulacan . As a child he began to curve excess wood from a Santo NiƱo Artisan in front of his hometown . He finished his degree in University of Santo Tomas major in advertising . His main influence are for his arts are Vicente Manansala and Galo Ocampo. He also worked as a fashion consultant which is reflected in his art. His figures will always appear poised and graceful leaving the facial features mysterious emphasizing the body movements. He held 16 exhibits and was one of the founders of the Group Starving Artist affiliated in New Orleans. Some of his works are in the collection of Imelda Marcos , Cory Aquino, Sultan of Brunei, and Hong kong Bank Center.
